🏢 Register as an Employer

All employers in South Sudan are required by law to register with NSIF and remit contributions for their employees.

📄 Required Documents

  • 🏛️ Business Registration Certificate
  • 🪪 Tax Compliance Certificate (from NRA)
  • 📋 List of all employees (full names, national IDs, salaries)
  • 📨 Company profile / introduction letter
  • ✍️ Completed Employer Registration Form

📍 How to Register

  • 1 Visit any NSIF branch with required documents
  • 2 Complete Employer Registration Form
  • 3 Receive your Employer NSIF Number
  • 4 Register each employee as an NSIF member
  • 5 Begin monthly contribution remittances

⚖️ Employer Obligations

  • Register all eligible employees with NSIF within 30 days of hiring
  • Deduct employee contributions from monthly salaries
  • Add employer contribution (matching amount)
  • Remit total contributions to NSIF by the 15th of each month
  • Submit monthly contribution schedules (digital or physical)
  • Maintain accurate employee records for 5+ years
  • Notify NSIF of employee exits or changes within 14 days

Compliance Bonus: Employers who remit contributions on time may qualify for preferential rates and certificates of good standing.

💰 Contribution Rates & Calculation

Contributions are calculated as a percentage of an employee's gross monthly salary. Both employer and employee contribute as follows:

Employer 17% Gross monthly salary

📌 Note: Contribution rates are subject to review by the NSIF Board of Trustees and the Ministry of Labour. Total monthly contribution is 25% of gross salary (8% from employee + 17% from employer).

⏰ Monthly Deadline

15th of Every Month

Contributions must be remitted by the 15th of the following month

⚠️ Late Payment Penalties

  • 📅 5% penalty on unpaid amount per month
  • 📈 Interest accrues at 2% above bank rate
  • ⚖️ Legal action for persistent defaulters
  • 🚫 Certificate of Good Standing may be revoked
